David Carter: I taught secondary school geography for a number of years before leaving to travel for the first time around the USA. When I came back to the UK I began a new career as a freelance interpretive designer and occasional supply teacher. In the past few years I have regained my enthusiasm for teaching and taught on a longer term basis at several schools in North- East England. My travels in the USA, as well as elsewhere in the world, have given me unique and memorable experiences that will stay with me for life.
